What is a floating stage — and why does every Bali villa wedding want one?
A floating stage is a modular platform installed over a swimming pool, turning unused water into the best-positioned space at the venue. In Bali, where the pool sits at the centre of nearly every villa and faces the best view, covering it is the single biggest space upgrade an event can make: the ceremony happens above the water, the aisle crosses it, or the whole pool becomes the dance floor. Despite the name, our stages do not float freely — each module rests on a steel frame with height-adjustable aluminium legs and rubber feet planted on the pool floor, so the surface is as solid as a built deck. AAA Events Group carries 12 floating stage finishes — white, clear acrylic, mirror, gold, black, timber, grass and carpet, in square and round forms — and installs them at 700+ events a year across Bali.
How much does a floating stage cost in Bali?
Floating stages are priced per module. Square modules are 1×1 m (1.22×1.22 m for acrylic and mirror), so a 4×4 m ceremony platform uses 16 modules: Rp 5,600,000 in white melamine, Rp 8,800,000 in clear acrylic. These are the published rates for every finish in the collection:

Can you put a dance floor over a pool?
Yes — this is the most common pool cover rental in Bali, and it is exactly what our floating stages are engineered for. A pool cover dance floor is installed as a full-width platform across the water: the black, mirror and acrylic finishes are the after-party favourites, while white melamine suits ceremony-to-reception turnarounds. Guests dance directly over the pool, the DJ booth sits on the same platform, and underwater pool lighting glows through the acrylic panels after dark. The same system also builds ceremony platforms, pool-crossing aisles, bridal-table islands and photo decks. If you want a dance floor on solid ground instead, we carry 25 conventional floors from Rp 175,000 per square metre — compare them on our dance floor rental guide.
Engineered structure
Steel frames, aluminium legs and rubber feet stand on the pool floor. The acrylic system adds a brace-reinforced aluminium truss with adjustable jack bases.
90 kg per module
Each module is rated to 90 kg — a full 4×4 m platform carries a wedding party, band or dinner tables. We plan module counts around your headcount.
Levelled by our crew
Adjustable legs handle sloped pool floors, steps and swim-outs. Our own team surveys, installs, levels and strikes every stage — never a third party.

Which Bali venues suit a floating stage?
Any venue with a pool — which in Bali means nearly all of them. The cliff-edge villas of Uluwatu are the signature setting: an infinity pool covered in clear acrylic puts the ceremony between the sky and the ocean. Beach clubs and villas in Canggu and Seminyak favour white and black platforms for parties; Ubud jungle villas take the timber and grass finishes; Nusa Dua and Sanur resorts book full pool covers for galas and brand launches. We deliver, install and collect at all of them — over 100 planners and venues across the island work with our collection every year.
Floating stage FAQ
How much does it cost to cover a villa pool in Bali?
Price the area, not the pool. A typical 4×4 m ceremony platform is 16 modules: Rp 5,600,000 in white melamine (Rp 350,000 per module), or Rp 8,800,000 in clear acrylic or mirror (Rp 550,000 per module). A full 8×4 m villa pool is 32 modules — Rp 11,200,000 in white. Delivery and installation are quoted separately based on your venue and access.
How strong is a floating stage — can guests dance on it?
Yes. Every module carries up to 90 kg and sits on a steel frame with aluminium legs and rubber feet — the stage rests on the pool floor, it does not float freely. Our new acrylic system uses an all-aluminium, brace-reinforced truss platform with adjustable jack bases, engineered for dancing, dinner tables and live performers.
Does the floating stage work on sloped or uneven pool floors?
Yes. The legs are individually adjustable, so our crew levels the platform across sloped pool floors, steps and swim-outs during installation. We survey unusual pools in advance — send us photos and dimensions with your enquiry and we confirm the layout before you book.
How far in advance should I book a floating stage in Bali?
For the July–September and December high seasons, book 2–3 months ahead — floating stages are the most requested pieces in our 162-piece collection. Availability on each product page is live against our real stock, and a 50% deposit reserves your modules for your exact date. The balance is settled the day before your event.
Do you install floating stages outside of Uluwatu and Seminyak?
We deliver and install across the whole island — Uluwatu, Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud, Nusa Dua, Sanur and beyond. Our own crew handles delivery, levelling, installation and teardown at every venue, from cliff-edge villas to beach clubs. With 700+ events produced each year, there are very few Bali venues we have not already worked in.
What shapes can a floating stage be built in?
Anything modular. The most-booked layouts are a T-shape (2×3 m aisle joining a 4×4 m platform) for wedding ceremonies, a 3×4 m rectangle for bridal tables, photo booths or bars, and a 2×5 m bridge connecting two areas of the venue. Round stages come as complete platforms for first dances.
